Women mediators step in after market clash
After a dispute between traders turned physical, a network of women mediators brought both sides back to the market together.
Programme: Women in peace & gender justice

The clash started over stall space and ended with injuries and a market that half the traders stopped using. Within days, members of a local women's peace network, many of them traders themselves, began visiting families on both sides.
Listening first
They did not start with solutions. They started by listening, separately, to everyone involved, and only then called a joint meeting.
The agreement that came out of it was simple: a new stall allocation, agreed by both groups and overseen by the market committee.
